South Dakota is famous for pheasants and River Hills Lodge is located on 16,000 acres within its heart. Experience pheasant, partridge and chukar hunting at its finest. Plenty of birds, eager dogs, and professional guides ensure a successful hunt.
You can hunt sunup to sundown and with 2,000 acres surrounding the lodge your hunting begins when you step outside. After an exhiliarating day in the field, return to the lodge for hors d'oeuvers and relax at the bar with your favorite cocktail. After a delicious meal, sit in front of the fire and watch the football games or retire to your comfortable private room.
We offer a choice of lodging preferences. For the all-inclusive package book your hunt at River Hills Lodge with the "Cattle Baron" package. There we provide private room accommodations, your hunting license, shells, use of the trap range, and a fully stocked bar for your pleasure, all under one roof. For the more economical hunter who prefers to provide his own supplies we offer the "Cowboy" package at River Hills Lodge East. The lodge features double occupancy rooms with a comfortable living room in the center. Next door is the lounge with pool table and shuffleboard, and an area to clean and store your hunting equipment.
Whether you choose the Cattle Baron or Cowboy package, your hunting experience will be second to none. Our fields are planted to encourage wild birds and you will not be disappointed. All packages include 5 birds per hunter per day with the option to shoot more for a small fee of $35 per bird. We'll even process and package your birds for transport.
River Hills Lodge is located 2 hours west of Sioux Falls. If you've booked the all-inclusive package we'll come and pick you up at the airport. If you prefer to drive in, just follow Interstate 90 west, at Hwy 45 turn south and go 25 miles to the town of Platte.
